OJGF Hurricane Relief - Hurricane Melissa

In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa, One Jamaica Global Foundation launched a relief and recovery initiative to support families, children, schools, churches, and community organizations impacted across Jamaica. Through the generosity of donors, volunteers, and community partners, the Foundation collected more than $15,000 in donated goods, including essential supplies, clothing, hygiene items, tarps, school-related items, and recovery materials.

The project began with the Fill the Truck Hurricane Drive on December 23, 2025, where supporters came together to donate critical supplies for families in need. The collected goods were stored, organized, packed, and shipped to Jamaica, with distribution taking place in January 2026. Relief items were provided to a community in St. Ann’s Bay, benefiting more than 50 individuals, along with a boys’ home and multiple local organizations, including faith-based and community-led partners.

This initiative was more than an emergency response. It represented the Foundation’s commitment to restoring hope, strengthening communities, and standing with Jamaica during moments of crisis. Hurricane Melissa revealed the urgent need for stronger community preparedness, reliable relief networks, and long-term investment in education, healthcare, housing, and local infrastructure.

Through this project, One Jamaica Global Foundation demonstrated its ability to mobilize support, coordinate logistics, build partnerships, and deliver tangible impact on the ground. The Hurricane Melissa Relief & Recovery Initiative now serves as a foundation for the organization’s continued mission to uplift Jamaica through sustainable community development, education support, healthcare access, agricultural empowerment, and disaster recovery readiness.

Future Scholars Daycare & Learning Center

Future Scholars Daycare & Learning Center is one of One Jamaica Global Foundation’s early education support partners in Jamaica. The center serves young children during their foundational learning years and needs basic educational resources such as books, alphabet and number materials, tracing activities, classroom supplies, and early childhood learning tools.

Through this partnership, One Jamaica Global Foundation aims to help strengthen early literacy, improve classroom readiness, and provide children with the tools they need to build confidence, curiosity, and a strong educational foundation.

It's easy on the eyes and a great go-to font for titles, paragraphs & moreTree of Life Ministries has long served as a place of faith, hope, and community support for families in Jamaica. After the church experienced damage, including concerns with its roof, One Jamaica Global Foundation stepped in to support the restoration effort by providing assistance and helping raise awareness around the need. Our goal is to help protect and restore this meaningful community space so it can continue serving, uplifting, and bringing people together for years to come.
